Way back in 2005 the team were working with Freedom Foundation an Bangalore based NGO working in the field of addiction and HIV/AIDS in Chennai with the support of Chennai AIDS Prevention & Control Society and Tamilnadu states aids control Board till 2010 due to administration reason they handed over the project to the government, during the tenure we have reached and served 3500 HIV/AIDS infected affected people and around 2000 alcohol and drug dependents, due the closer of the project the service to the affected and infected people was interrupted Most of the staff was recovering alcoholic and drug addict who became the service provider were also lost their job.
Keeping this in our mind and with our experience we have formed an NGO called Freedom Care at No.2/881,1st main Road, Valluvar Nagar, sithallapakam,Channai-600 073 initially starting with 30 bedded felicities need another 30 beds for chemical dependents with Lake view and mountain view without pollution with homely atmosphere with qualified professionals to serve the society, who are addicted to alcohol and drug. It is born out of conviction that addiction is a growing& chronic disease which affects the individual, family and the society also risk of HIV/AIDS infection. These people needs special care with dignified approach with love and affection through psychosocial approach to prevent from poverty, crime,HIV/AIDS/STI/HBV/HCV.The founder trustees are K.N.S.Varadhan decided to establish a DE-addiction/rehabilitation center/half way home for alcohol and drug and also HIV care to the needy people. To initiate the center on a full fledged professional way we are seeking s upport from well wishers and like-minded agencies, companies, individuals to serve the needy.

TREATMENT OUTLINE
At Freedom Care the treatment for alcoholism / drug addiction will entail a 4 – month residential treatment programme. During this period, the client receives professional help aimed at bringing about personality and behavior modification as a way of overcoming their addiction to alcohol and other drugs.
